Safeguarding

Caroline holds an enhanced DBS Clearance (criminal records checks). Any other support staff employed by Nuture in Nature Forest School or volunteers are thoroughly vetted, with DBS checks and references taken.

Nurture in Nature Forest School regularly reviews our policies, undertake safeguarding training and awareness and follow guidance from our local safeguarding board Hertfordshire Safeguarding Children Partnership.

Risk Assessments

Planning and preparation are essential to minimise risk, we therefore conduct thorough risk assessments of:

i) all forest school sites where we hold sessions.

ii) each activity undertaken within a session which has potential risk.

Copies of our risk assessments are available upon request.

First Aid

Caroline is a trained first aider and holds a current ITC Outdoor First Aid Certificate. Comprehensive first aid kits are always carried during Forest School sessions. 

Insurance

Nurture in Nature Forest School holds public liability insurance to £5,000,000.  Copies of our insurance certificate are available upon request.
